Final Fantasy 14 Guide
I have created to this Final Fantasy 14 Guide to help out the tides of new players stopping by to check out Eorzea. While FFXIV is now free to play and the game is in a rebuilding process, a lot of servers are still flush with players looking to build up their characters, join linkshells, and just have fun while Square Enix works on the upcoming “re-release” for PS3.
On this site you will find everything you need to get started in Final Fantasy XIV, including guides for every class in the game. I will also be adding crafting guides and tips in addition to gil-making guides and other information that will want to know if you decide to play FF14. There is also some great tips that even advanced players can learn from throughout this FF14 guide.
If you do not know where to start, I recommend reading through our class guides. Here is the list:
Disciplines of War
Disciplines of Magic
Just like in FFXI, the developers of FFXIV have stated that they will be adding plenty of classes as the games over time. When new jobs come out, I will update the site, so be sure to check back often!
Another thing to note is that players in Final Fantasy XIV can switch jobs simply by changing equipped weapons, and any player can play any class in-game! You can even equip skills across classes to create your own unique character.
This is where my Final Fantasy 14 Guide comes in handy: each class guide mentions the best abilities that you will want to equip from other classes, so you don’t have to worry about not knowing what abilities to get!
Final Fantasy 14 Strategy Guide – The State of the Game
If you are new to FFXIV, you should know a bit about the state of the game. The game originally came out back at the end of September, 2010. The game suffered terribly at launch, getting bad reviews and the game was incompatible for many players’ computers.
Due to the flop at release, the developers have changed management teams and have made the game free-to-play (with no micro-transactions). The game was originally slated to release in Spring of 2011 for PS3, but the creators have suspended that release as well.
While the game is free-to-play, the developers are working hard to re-make the game so it lives up to the expectations of players, and a lot of improvements have already been made to the game since release.
Currently, the game runs much, much smoother and faster, but more improvements are still being planned so that the game can remain competitive in this market.
Speaking of new games, if you are playing Star Wars The Old Republic and are looking for a good SWTOR guide, you should check out this review of Aeon Guide. Aeon SWTOR Guide covers every Star Wars class and build possible, so it is really handy to have at your disposal.
Also, you can check out this TERA Guide, which contains tips and strategies for this MMORPG. If you are looking for off-the-path MMORPGs like Final Fantasy 14 that offer different gameplay from WoW and all the WoW clones, TERA is a good choice, as it blends unique combat elements with the conveniences offered by modern RPGs like questing, mounts, and the like.
Final Fantasy 14′s PS3 release date is still unknown, but is expected in late 2011 or early 2012. When this happens, the game will once again be live and have a monthly fee to play. In the mean time, players are taking advantage of this and leveling up their characters to get prepared for the re-release.
This Final Fantasy XIV guide is ever changing, just like the game. You can use the tips in this FF14 guide to help prepare for new content and re-release which is drawing ever nigh!
